Thanks to grant assistance from British Airways / Groundworks, we have an observation hive in a bee - proof enclosure at our apiary which we can use to demonstrate the workings of a bee hive to any0ne interested.
The enclosure will hold about 10 people plus the demonstrator, so we need to limit groups to about that size.
The hive will only be stocked between April and September, as the weather will not be suitable in the winter.
The kind of groups that we envisage being interested could include school groups, including primary school classes if there are sufficient adults to help supervise, gardening and allotment societies, local community groups, and anyone concerned about the environment or natural history.
Sessions have to be pre booked, and will be dependent on the weather and our having someone available to demonstrate. If you would be interested in a demonstration, please email so we can make arrangements with you. Please include a phone number you can be contacted on.
We do not intend to charge, but a donation to group funds would go down well!
