There are said to be health benefits from eating local honey, especially for those who suffer from hay fever. The pollen in the honey is said to help to build an immunity to the allergens that cause the hay fever, and so reduce symptoms.

Honey from a source near the sufferers home will contain a high proportion of the pollen that stimulates causes the allergy, and so may be beneficial.

Local honey is also a product to be proud of! A quality food, produced by these amazing creatures, on your own doorstep. It makes an ideal present, especially if you are travelling to see friends at a distance - a taste of home!

It is perhaps worth noting that some countries do not allow the importation of honey, to prevent the spread of bee diseases (these are not transmissable to humans).

Local honey is available through the Farm Shop at 19 The Green, Ealing W5 - whilst stocks last! You will also find honey stalls at a variety of local events, including the farmers markets in and at fetes, carnivals etc., Please see our programme for further information.

If you are in the Ealing area, we are able to supply local honey if you wish to buy it; E-mail to make contact, giving a name, address and phone number and we will try to put a local beekeeper in touch. If you are not in the Ealing Area then you could try contacting your local association for the name of a a local bee-keeper who may be able to supply. Contact through the BBKA or this site where there is a list of beekeepers who may be able to supply honey.

Honey is not the only produce from the hive; wax, propolysis, pollen are all produced by bees and can be harvested, and may be available.
